The year 1950. The races want to chronicle, decades later, a crucial season in motorsport, which, although marking the beginning of a new era, finds no place in a yearbook, or worthy publication, capable of capturing its full significance. The Année Automobile had not yet been founded (it would appear for the first time at the end of 1953), and Autocourse did not begin publication until the events of the 1951 season.
1950 is a year of particular importance in the history of world motorsport, because of what occurred: the Euro-American World Drivers' Championship, but also all the "formula", sports and touring car competitions that were the basis of future international (like the World Sports Car Championship, rallies, etc.) or national major events (like the NASCAR Championship, or Indianapolis).
