This book is about a car and several racing drivers. It is also about an Alfa Romeo that Scuderia Ferrari sent to Brazil in 1936 to compete in two races. However, due to the ups and downs of fate it did not return to its natal Italy. All this happened in a romantic car racing era, before the Great War.
At the time, the moving of machines was made by boat, and the drivers and mechanics who were also on that boat enjoyed the voyage, the sea and life on board. Evidently, the times they managed were different from the ones we manage today.
The car, sold in Brazil, arrived in Buenos Aires thanks to the purchase made by a young local promising man: Carlos Arzani.
After years of racing, the beautiful machine was abandoned in a barn in Paraná, Entre Ríos, where it was retrieved and restored by Lucio Bollaert in the 80s.
So, this is the story of the Alfa Romeo 2900A Boticella, the Italian star Carlo Pintacuda and the King of Speed, Carlos Arzani.
