Luigi Fusi, a pupil of Merosi and Jano, was in Alfa Romeo for forty-seven years - draftsman, designer, head of design control - and published in 1965 a valuable overview of all the cars produced by the Milanese manufacturer, later revised, updated and expanded, in 1978, and considered by Alfisti all over the world as the brand's "bible".
With this monograph, he wanted to remind, and celebrate, fifty years later, the technical-sporting history of the first single-seater built by Alfa Romeo.
Born in 1931, it was called "Tipo A" because it was the first of the series of single-seater models that succeeded in becoming successful in European racing.
As a designer for the Milanese company, Luigi Fusi collaborated on the creation of this model, kept several photos of the time - included in this volume - and also obtained permission to publish the original drawings, many of which he had executed himself. In the appendix to the volume, he described the phases of rebuilding the "Tipo A" for the Alfa Romeo Museum, with related photographic material.
Alfa Romeo Tipo A Monoposto Single-Seater, like other books by Luigi Fusi, for its wealth of information, data and images, has become a classic of motoring literature dedicated to the House of Biscione, and an unmissable text for any "alfista".
