From 1963 to 1983, Autodelta was the racing department, more or less official, of Alfa Romeo. Under the colours of this team, born in the province of Udine and raised in Settimo Milanese, great names in motor sport raced such as Ignazio Giunti, Nino Vaccarella, Andrea de Adamich or Toine Hezemans, to name but a few.
All drivers who raced - in the shadow of the brilliant Carlo Chiti - at the wheel of unforgettable cars like the Giulia TZ, Giulia GTA, 33 in its various declinations or the Alfetta GT rally cars up to the less successful Formula 1 single-seaters, of course.
This, in brief, is the history of Autodelta, a story of great victories, of two world titles in the World Championship for Makes, in 1971 and 1977, but also of bitter defeats and missed opportunities.
All this relives in a book published for the first time in 2012, and today revised in graphics and, above all, enriched with hundreds of completely unpublished colour and b/w images from Franco Villani's archive.
AUTODELTA L'Alfa Romeo e le corse 1963-1983 Nuova edizione has 330 pages and a wealth of photographs, with 177 b/w and 265 colour images.
