May 1st 1994. Reality? Suggestion?
Through the author's experience, at the time when he was only in his twenties, a different truth emerged, filtered by the shock of having come into contact with his hero, Ayrton Senna, in the most hectic hours of his life.
After a sleepless night, Marco, the protagonist of the story, lost the start of the Formula 1 Grand Prix broadcast on TV and was woken up by a call from his sister, a doctor from the Maggiore Hospital in Bologna, who warned him of the imminent arrival of Senna from the Imola racetrack where he suffered a serious accident.
Marco, also in Bologna, rushes to the 11th floor of the hospital just before the press of journalists makes it impossible to enter or leave the ward itself.
The whole world is in trepidation due to the conditions of the pilot. Senna, although in a reserved prognosis, is alive and conscious.
Troubled and frightened, he asks doctors for some time before revealing his conditions to the media.
The thought of retiring from racing, which has haunted him for two days now, can no longer wait and Ayrton looks for a friendly voice to work with.
He finds it by chance in Marco, a passionate connoisseur of his feats as a pilot and his personal universe.
With a dry style and an original narrative construction, the novel is an opportunity for confrontation for a double introspective journey.
