Flaminio Bertoni is driven by an insatiable will: he wants to create! With his sculptures and drawings, Bertoni became a prominent artist and sculptor of his time, later also completing architectural studies and building houses.

However, he became world-famous for his futuristic car bodies for the French brand Citroën, the design of which he would influence significantly for more than three decades. Already with his first work - a project for the Traction Avant - he realised a breathtaking design, which immediately received the approval of André Citroën.

Citroën's wife Georgina is convinced: ‘With this car we will win every concours d'elegance!’ And she was right, because production of the revolutionary Citroën in aerodynamic form would end after 23 years, in 1957.

The Traction Avant was followed by other milestones in automotive history, including the famous 2CV, the extravagant Ami 6 and the famous Citroën ‘Goddess’ DS. Flaminio Bertoni consistently transforms the industrial product of the car, produced in millions, into a sculptural work of art!

With Bertoni - Ein Leben für die Form Leonardo Bertoni and Stéphane Bonutto offer an important contribution - for the first time in German - to the figure of Flaminio Bertoni.

Their biography, based on his diary notes, offers an interesting and entertaining insight into the professional and private life, creation and work of an exceptional talent.

Original title of the work, published in 2002: Flaminio Bertoni. Vita, genio e le opere.
