The history of the automobile BMW officially began in 1928 when Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach was acquired by Bayerische Motoren Werke and the Dixi 3/15 hp, produced in Eisenach, became the first car bearing the BMW brand name.
The historical development of the Eisenach motor vehicle is a particularly interesting chapter in automotive history and for this reason the book treats it extensively.
In a period of great economic difficulty, BMW was able to gain a good position in the automotive market in a short time and consolidate it in the 1930s through successful and pioneering achievements. The events of the 1930s and the post-war recovery phases as well as the gradual consolidation are covered here.
BMW has always set milestones in automotive evolution. And, for the first time, this volume has compiled the entire range of cars with the blue-and-white brand: every model is presented with a brief but accurate description and a table with the main technical data.
A great deal of space is also given to motor sport: the German company's activities in this field have always been remarkable; the popularity of the BMW brand worldwide can also be attributed to the sporting victories it has achieved over the years.
BMW Automobili dalla prima Dixi ai modelli BMW di domani, published in 1992 in Italian, celebrates its sixty-five years of existence, during which it has alternated moments of crisis and success, of slumps and growth.
