BMW M Power, published in 1998, celebrates the 25th anniversary of these legendary German cars with a gallery of splendid images and comments from experts and journalists.
BMW launched the Motorsport division, or "M", in 1972 in order to officially support its highly successful motor racing programme.
Cleverly, BMW used this racing credibility to create high-performance, limited edition production cars, the first of which was the M1 supercar in 1978.
Tested and tuned in a dedicated facility located near the legendary Nürburgring, BMW's M cars are true "driver's cars" that focus first and foremost on driveability and high performance. However, when not being extreme driven, they are docile enough to be used every day.
Thanks to its large format, this book traces an impressive visual history, offering the reader a comprehensive chronology of these cars: from M1 to M3 E30, M635CSI to M5 E28, 850CSI to BMW M roadster and coupé of 1997/1998, to the last, in order of appearance, M5 E39.
