In September 1946, at the Milan Trade Fair, the Ducati company of Borgo Panigale presented the Cucciolo, a small auxiliary engine for bicycles, designed by Aldo Farinelli and initially produced by SIATA of Turin.
In the same year, Ducati released its first original design, the T2. Heavily influenced by the T1 project, the T2 had nevertheless made significant progress in engine efficiency and robustness and, above all, in construction logic.
First sold in an assembly box, later with its own chassis designed and patented by Bolognese mechanic Nino Verlicchi, the Cucciolo was capable of doing up to 100 kilometres with one litre of fuel. It is destined to become the most famous engine of its category in the world, with over 100,000 units produced.
This is the instruction booklet of Istruzioni per l'applicazione e l'uso del micromotore per ciclo "cucciolo Ducati T2".
