Paris and Dakar: names that identify two cities on paper. Between them a thin line drawn in ink: a line that in a handful of centimetres encloses thousands of kilometres of competition.
1990 is a fantastic year for the Italian colours. Among the sand dunes, Edi Orioli triumphs riding the Cagiva. It was the first time an Italian-built motorbike conquered the African marathon, while it was the second for the rider from Friuli, who repeated the 1988 success. In third place Ciro de Petri, also on an official Cagiva. Eighth place went to Luigino Medardo, driving a Gilera RC600 (first in the Silhouette category).
In the truck category, Perlini, one of the most important world players in the off-road dumper sector, won with Giorgio Villa and Giorgio Delfino.
Dakar. Una vittoria italiana tells all this and much more, through beautiful images that capture highlights, places, landscapes, means and protagonists, and the ever-present public.
