Published in 2009, Formula Junior 1958 - 2008, as the title states, is a pictorial review to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of formula Junior racing. In this small but valuable book, more than 100 richly illustrated pages tell the story of Formula Junior, a subject already covered by the author in other publications.

Frank Nicholls with his front-engined Elva 100 was the first to mass-produce in the UK, and he was joined by the one-off Halson and the Moorland which later became the Gemini. The turning point in the UK was the famous John Davy Trophy race held on the Boxing Day at Brands Hatch.

Whilst the racing was very competitive and popular over the next couple of years nevertheless Formula Junior racing only lasted for four years in the UK and ceased at the end of the 1963 season. It was replaced by what was to become the 1-litre "Screamer" era of Formula 3 racing. And the 1970s saw the beginning of a "historic" period for Formula Junior, with its involvement in many events
