François Cevert, born in Paris in 1944, died in the Watkins Glen circuit in 1973, was a Formula 1 rider. His season began in 1966 by winning the prestigious Volante Shell, batting Patrick Depailler. The following year he joined the Tecno team. After a Season in Formula 2, in 1970 he entered Formula 1 with Tyrrell thanks to Jackie Stewart for which he would become a great friend. Stay with Tyrrell and fight to Ronnie Peterson. Familiar to his charm, he often ends up on world news and moves himself personally by driving a small Piper plane. He tragically died on October 6, 1973 in the Watkins Glen circuit, in front of Jackie Stewart's eyes, to the point that he would be tempted to leave the world of motoring.
