Il Circuito di Siracusa. I Gran Premi di Formula in terra d'Archimede dal 1951 al 1958, edited by Giovanni Giunta, traces the birth and development of motor sport in Siracusa, which saw its moment of glory in the 1950s with the creation of the circuit by the Ente Autonomo Circuito di Siracusa (E.A.C.S.).

During those years, Siracusa was the protagonist of 16 Grand Prix, as well as other automobile and motorbike sports competitions. With a rich gallery of pictures, the book tells the behind-the-scenes story of the races: anecdotes, the dense correspondence between racing teams and organisers, drivers' requests, relations with public institutions and the constant search for funding, which, even after the war, was not lacking.

In Giovanni Giunta's tales, along with insiders, officials, politicians and journalists, parade sportspeople who made motor racing history: Fangio, Villoresi, Ascari, Farina, Brooks, to name just a few.

The 500-page work illustrates the birth of the first sporting events organised in Siracusa, the constitution of the Ente Autonomo Circuito di Siracusa and dedicates a chapter to each of the Grand Prix held from 1951 to 1958; it is also complete with unpublished documents kept at the Automobile Club Siracusa and photographic illustrations from private archives and the author's personal archive.

The first volume will be followed by a second one dedicated to the history of the events organised in the period 1959/1969.

Limited edition of only 500 copies, numbered and signed by the author.
