The unpublished biography in Italian, written by sports journalist Heinz Prüller, of Karl Jochen Rindt (Mainz April 18, 1942-September 5, 1970 Monza) famous and unforgettable Austrian racing driver, champion of the World of Formula One in 1970. The title he was awarded posthumously after the pilot was killed in an accident at Monza. Featuring a style of aggressive and spectacular driving, he was considered one of the best racing drivers of his era. During his entire career, while maintaining until his death German citizenship, he ran under Austrian license, the country where he moved after his parents' death in a bombing raid by the Allies during World War II. Rindt spent most of his career in Formula One, the category in which he won six Grands Prix, but gained success as well in other categories, such as Formula 2 and covered wheels competitions, in which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1965.
