L'Année Automobile is a yearbook specialising in automotive and motor sport, published annually in French. For many years also in English, as Automobile Year, and in German, Auto-Jahr.

This editorial initiative was launched in 1953 by Ami Guichard, a Swiss motoring journalist and entrepreneur from Lausanne, who published it through his company Edita S.A.

He involved the best authors and photographers of the time in the project, amongst them Charles Faroux (the founder of the Le Mans 24-hour race), Giovanni Lurani and Yves Debraine.

Since its launch, the contents generally cover three different sections: Industry, Motorsport and Culture. After an introduction by the publisher, a section dedicated to the automotive industry with news and reports on new models opens the book.

Following a section dedicated to motorsport, with an extensive part on Formula One and the single-seater series, another on endurance racing (24 Hours of Le Mans, Le Mans Series, American Le Mans Series and FIA GT Championship), then touring cars, and finally rallying (World Rally Championship and Dakar Rally). A section on automotive culture completes the publication.
