The famous crossing from Beirut to Beijing with Citroën crawlers in 1931 and 1932.
In 1931, at the behest of André Citroën, the crossing of the Asian continent from the Mediterranean to the China Sea began.
This was the "Yellow Cruise", an expedition of 43 men and 14 lorries. The expedition was divided into two groups: the "China" group, led by Victor Point, which arrived in Beijing on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
And the "Pamir" group, which left Beirut on 4 April 1931, led by Haardt and Audouin-Dubreuil. With them were Teilhard de Chardin, Hackin, a specialist in Far Eastern antiquities, Reymond and Williams, naturalists, Le Fèvre, a journalist, the painter Jacovleff and a film crew.
The two groups then crossed the Gobi in winter. On 12 February 1932, after 10 months of all kinds of efforts, the Yellow Cruise entered Beijing. It had travelled 12,115 km from one end of Asia to the other.
