This small but valuable volume portrays the 2.5-litre B20s engine designed by Francesco De Virgilio at Lancia in 1953.
This was an engine for road cars, in contrast to the Lancia racing engines developed at the same time. Three B20s engines were built and tested at Lancia.
Example #3, the subject of this book, was delivered on 25 November 1953. However, it was not further developed and ended up in private hands, those of Jan Voboril, in Los Angeles.
Ed Levin went to Jan's shop and took photographs of the engine as it was being rebuilt and assembled.
These pictures provide an opportunity to see the engine and examine in detail its relationship to the Aurelia engine designed only a few years earlier by the same engineer.
