Inaugurated in 1921, the Francorchamps circuit is the oldest circuit in Europe to have preserved part of its original track. This is not a case.

At the heart of the great history of motorsport, and the "little stories" behind this legend so special, the "most beautiful circuit in the world" (as the drivers have always described it) has remained at the highest level for 100 years.

To tell the story of the 'grand Francorchamps' in words and pictures, and to recover many anecdotes from oblivion, it took three fans of the circuit.

The present volume, first of a trilogy, analyses the beginnings of the circuit, the birth of its mythical races, its rebirth after the war up to the moment when Francorchamps finally acquired permanent infrastructures.

The readers will discover who gave Francorchamps the title of "most beautiful circuit in the world" and who "invented" the Raidillon.

They will also learn about the positive effects of the race by entering the hotels that welcomed the runners.

Inside:

  • Many unpublished images
  • Descriptions of the 14 kilometre circuit through the ages
  • Stories from the races and the paddock
  • Countless anecdotes from the past and/or never-before-seen
  • Moments of glory, but also the hard times
  • Life in the hotels and workshops around the circuit
