The "numeri unici" of Mille Miglia were published on the occasion of the Brescian race, edited by the Automobile Club of Brescia.
With covers always well-designed and colourful, the compilation of texts was headed by Giovanni Canestrini but included various introductory articles, commentaries or considerations signed by illustrious pens like those of Favia Del Core, Emilio de Martino, Giovanni Bagni, Michele Suglia, Augusto Mignani, Carlo Biscaretti and many others.
The collection of these issues has now become a precious collector's rarity, as it is a unique and comprehensive document tracing all the events of this great Italian competition.
The images contained are 'special' and alone manage to render the emotion and involvement of people in those days. The advertisements that punctuate the text are very evocative, and fully capture the spirit of communication at that time.
This "numero unico", published on the occasion of the 16th edition of Mille Miglia (24 April 1949), chronicles the 15th edition with texts, pictures, and figures.
All entrants in 1948's race, time controls of individual passages, official classification, and final results by categories, classes and special groups are reported.
