After the war, Italy was involved in a great effort to reconstruct the social, political and economic fabric. One of the most striking examples is the motor industry, with the development of micromotors to be applied to bicycles or special frames. Their low cost decreed their immediate success.
Also, Bologna was a protagonist of this phenomenon: no less than 49 firms were active in those years, in many cases "meteors" destined soon to disappear. Others are still successful brands on the world market today.
The Ducati Cucciolo became one of the artificers of the country's "popular motorisation". Among the motorbike manufacturers are M.M. and C.M., with a glorious past, while Moto Morini and F.B-Mondial become successful in sports. Cimatti, Malaguti, Marzocchi, Testi, Verlicchi, are on their way to gaining an important space.
Bologna Postwar Motorcycles presents 50 biographies of Bolognese manufacturers, with more than 300 mostly unpublished pictures.
And, in a long section, "Collecting", all the most representative motorbikes of the time are photographed (complete with technical data sheets).
