The book by Mario Colombo, now in its fifth edition (the first dates back to 1977), revised and expanded, is an important point of reference in motorcycling literature, considered a fundamental text for fans of the Italian manufacturer who appreciate its historical rigour and extreme completeness.
Moto Guzzi The complete history from 1921, published in 2007, retraces the industrial and sporting history of Italy's leading motorbike brand in terms of dimensions, model variety and palmarès.
The work consists of two main sections. The first, dedicated to company history and sporting events, examines both the figure of all the protagonists - from the founders to the designers, from the mechanics to the riders - and the technical and commercial evolution of the company, characterised since the beginning by its high quality and refined construction.
The second section consists of a complete and accurate cataloguing of all models, in turn divided into the different versions, covering the entire range of Moto Guzzi production, including vehicles for the army and police forces, prototypes and record-breaking vehicles.
Lastly, the colour portfolio in the centre of the volume presents a selection of some of the most significant examples of production and racing motorcycles held at the Guzzi Museum or in private collections.
Concluding the work, within the limits imposed by the documentation that still exists, is a chronology of production and chassis numbers, i.e. the information most sought after by the numerous enthusiasts and collectors of the marque.
