Sertum was one of Italy's most dynamic and important motorbike manufacturers, whose story began in Milan in 1922. At that time, Fausto Alberti decided to add to the precision mechanical production, which he had been dedicated to for some time, the more daring design and construction of motorbikes.
Already during the 1930s, Sertum's reputation grew rapidly, thanks to the "Batua", 175 "Utilitaria" and 250 models, and the production of motorcars and three-wheelers.
Sertum's fame also quickly grew in the racing scene, particularly in regularity competitions. Before closing its doors in 1952, Sertum was still in time to offer the innovative 125 light-motorcycle in 1950, which never went into production.
Telling this short but intense story, through a careful reconstruction of the facts and a systematic catalogue of the various models, supported by rare period images, is the prestigious name of Mario Colombo who, putting aside his loved Guzzi for once, tackles this fascinating subject with equal passion, not forgetting useful restoration tips.
Moto Sertum has 121 pages and 152 images, 65 in colour and 87 in b/w.
