Quando corre Nuvolari…, published in 1992, is the book officially chosen by the Committee for the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Tazio Nuvolari's birth (16 November 1892).
The figure of the driver from Mantua is one of the few, among sportsmen of all disciplines, who has gone beyond the limited interest of fans in his own field to become a national symbol: from hit songs to the identification, in his name, of all daring and recklessness at the wheel.
The man Nuvolari - always portrayed between myth and reality - comes out confirmed in his greatness, not as a crazy man ready to dare everything with recklessness, but as a cool driver who calculates risk even if he sometimes indulges the crowd with some extravagant "numbers".
Quando corsa Nuvolari… is a complete portrait of the "flying Mantuan", and his incredible career, with a list of races in chronological order, and all the two- and four-wheel vehicles he drove during his racing career.
