In the early 1980s, at a time when the world of rallying was dominated by rear-wheel-drive models like Fiat 131 Abarth, Ford Escort RS, Lancia Stratos, Opel Ascona 400 and Porsche 911, Audi unleashed a real revolution with the launch of Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
It was the beginning of an adventure that fascinated and still fascinates fans of this sport. Quattro is also linked to the story of Michele Mouton, the only woman to win a round of the World Rally Championship, and many other unique performances, like the absolute record for the average speed on a special stage.
In 1983, Stig Blomqvist drove his car 81.5 km at an average speed of 189.53 km/h! Not forgetting the adventures in Pikes Peak, Trans Am, IMSA and DTM, during which Audi proved that all-wheel drive is also the supreme advantage on circuit asphalt.
Quattro is the complete story of the Quattro car and the quartet formed by Stig Blomqvist, Hannu Mikkola, Michèle Mouton and Walter Röhrl. 250 pages, including not only complete results, but also a list of all special stages won by the Audi Quattro in the World Championship.
