There are few co-drivers that transcend and achieve the fame of a driver, but Fabrizia Pons is one of them.
A native of Turin, Italy, she is perhaps the most successful woman ever to sit in a World Rally Championship car, and one of only two people ever to score World Rally Championship points as both driver and co-driver.
Best known for her partnership with French star, Michèle Mouton, Fabrizia guided the pair to the first WRC win by a female team, at San Remo in 1981.
That record is still up for grabs some 40 years later and equally, Fabrizia Pons is still in the co-driver’s seat.
Gone is the front line competition, and back is a career in the historic rallies with ‘Lucky’ - the same driver she was with when she came to international attention in 1979 and 1980.
Over a hundred pages, Fabrizia Pons and Alexandru Dobai rhapsodize about the old days and a fascinating story.
