There are names that nobody remembers anymore, but it is also thanks to their companies that Ducati has become the brand that inflames fans and fills the stands in MotoGP and Superbike.

They are Gli Eroi Ducati, as recalled by the title of the book written by the bolognese journalist Giuliano Musi. It is the story of everything you don't know, the men who have conquered victories on the bikes of Borgo Panigale until the moment Ducati has experienced the greatest success.

The book starts from Ducati's first success in the field of engines obtained by the mechanic-rider Recchia in 1946 with the Cucciolo, on the circuit inside the Giardini Margherita in Bologna, and stops at Lucchinelli, who won the first race in 1988 of the Superbike World Championship.

A historical ride that brings to light every aspect of the old Ducati, revolutionized and launched by the arrival of the engineer Taglioni who perfected the desmodromic system and designed around 1000 models.

The initial part of the volume is dedicated to the profiles of about 800 Italian riders of various competitive thickness who brought the name Ducati to the podium. Some in the World Cup, others only in the category rankings in minor competitions.

The second section is dedicated to great designers such as Taglioni, to the engineers, preparers, technicians and mechanics of the stables that worked with him, keeping the Ducati name alive in the world even when the parent company had officially retired from competitions.

The third section reports about 600 profiles of foreign riders, also of various value, who raced and won on the Ducati.

The fourth part is a set of Ducati curiosities ranging from flying mechanics, decisive for the triumphs in the Motogiro, to the riders of the great raids, to those of world records.

The final section shows the most successful bikes with their respective technical characteristics.
