In the legendary film „Le Mans“ the actor Siegfried Rauch was the main rival for Steve McQueen - but behind the camera the two became close friends. Rauch leads us through this book, he speaks from the work at the Le Mans film set, outlines his memories and experiences with the private Steve McQueen and also why he did not want to start a career in Hollywood.
Additional to Rauch many other people like camera car driver Herbert Linge or stuntman Dr. Erich Glavitza are interviewed and remember the set and the work in „Solar Village“. The book is illustrated with many fantastic photographs from the shooting of the film, but also from Rauch’s private collection and it shows many original documents as well as images from memorabilia like the original helmets or driver overalls.
