When Lee Iacocca convinced Henry Ford II to produce a four-seater sports car for emerging youngsters, the face of the automotive world changed.
More than a commercial success, Mustang has created its own genre, a completely new category known as "pony car".
But Ford is just beginning. The original pony car will evolve to become a muscle car, first with sports versions like the Mustang GT or the Shelby GT 350, then with the real supercars like the Shelby GT 500, the Super Cobra Jet 429, the Boss 302 and the Chapter 429.
