Unveiled as a concept car at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Audi TT made its official debut in the autumn of 1998. This sports coupé was distinguished by its innovative design, inspired by the precepts of the Bauhaus (full name: Staatliches Bauhaus), a school of art and design that operated in Germany in the cultural-historical context of the Weimar Republic, focused on rationalism and functionalism.
It was soon followed by a popular roadster with equally original lines. The list was extended by more ambitious variants, such the V6 and the extremely rare Quattro Sport.
In 2006, the second generation of the TT became even more powerful. For the first time, the TT carried the RS logo and, for the occasion, received the legendary inline-five-cylinder engine that had become a synonym for the brand's sporting achievements.
The turnaround at the top of the market was confirmed by the third generation, on sale since 2014. A saga that began a quarter of a century ago, celebrated by the latest version of the TT, the Iconic Edition, produced in a limited series.
The Audi TT is a collector's model already highly desirable to the most ardent fans of the four-ringed marque…
Audi TT, trois générations, une icône has 162 pages and a wealth of photographs, with no less than 300 images, many previously unpublished.
