The FASTO adventure began in 1924 in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines, with the production of the first cars in 1926. In contrast to the trends of the time, it was decided to build the car in its whole, including engine.

In 1927, three A3 S models equipped with 2-litre engines were prepared for the 24 hours of Le Mans, giving FASTO a prestigious showcase despite mechanical mishaps on the track.

The same year, A4 entered the catalogue. Unfortunately, the FASTO adventure came to a premature conclusion in 1928/1929, at the dawn of the Great Depression, bringing an end to a promising but short-lived automotive epic. Today, FASTO cars are almost impossible to find, having fallen into oblivion even at vintage car rallies.

Almost a century later, the Groupement Associatif des Collectionneurs du Patrimoine Technique - GACPT - decided to restore the last known example of the FASTO A2. Used as a family car until the mid-1950s, it then fell into oblivion, spending many years in a damp underground garage.

The proceeds from the sale of this volume went to this significant restoration project. The preface is by Franck Mesnel, former French national rugby player, co-founder of the Eden Park brand and grandson of Pierre Mesnel… driver of Fasto number 8 in the 1927 Le Mans 24 Hours.
