Collesano - Piano Zucchi / Prima Edizione 17 Luglio 1976 continues the editorial work of Roberto Barbato who, in recent years, using a personal and extraordinary photographic archive, has highlighted the many competitions born and held in Sicily, some of which have risen to the rank of national and international importance.

The 13-kilometre track that climbs from the gates of Collesano to Piano Zucchi, in the heart of the Madonie in the province of Palermo, was the scene of one of the most difficult hill-climbs in all Europe. Long, winding, difficult to memorise, the route has always been particularly challenging also for the most experienced drivers.

This photo book focuses on the first edition of this race, held on 17 July 1976, won by Angelo Giliberti "Bitter" in a Lola 2000, ahead of "Popsy Pop" in a Chevron B/26 and "Iccudrac" in a Porsche 911.

A collection of 150 exclusive and unpublished pictures of almost all participants, with the cars of the various Groups (1 / 2 / 4 / 5 / 6) and their relative rankings, complete a precious volume that is a unique testimony of the Italian hill-climb races in the 1970s.
