OSCA (acronym of Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili) was a small car company from San Lazzaro di Savena, active from 1947 to 1967. It has won a lot and all over the world, has lived for twenty years and has shone with true light, that in the annals of sport means victories over victories, even in too many today we have no idea of the extent of these successes.
It was the Italy of the first post-war, a country that came out with broken bones but capable of being reborn in haste and where ingenuity, willpower and sacrifice counted more than the few economic means available. The Maserati brothers with a handful of collaborators, old ex-employees and many kids to grow up on the job day after day have performed a miracle. Their racing cars are small-displacement engine engines but often they put behind their much more powerful rivals, Ferrari in the first place, and almost always without being able to use the most celebrated professional drivers of the time.
In the archive of the great photographer Walter Breveglieri, one of his great talented drivers also arrived in F1, there were over 2500 images almost all unpublished on the OSCA.
