Ralf Schumacher s switch from Formula 1 to DTM made the most popular international touring car racing series hit the headlines in winter of 2007/2008. A lesser known fact is that his brother Michael used to race in the DTM as well albeit not very successfully: in 1990 and 1991 Schumi I contested a total of three DTM races. A 14th-place finish was his best result.

Historic snippets like this can be found in the book DTM The Story to be published in June 2008 in German and English as a revised and updated edition of the previous volume.

On 248 coloured pages the history of the popular touring car series is traced in minute detail. Seven pages are devoted to each of the 21 DTM racing years that have passed since the series was first launched.

A wealth of interesting stories from DTM history are told in a form that assures maximum reading pleasure, spiced with fascinating photographs from every period of the series. The ten best drivers in DTM history, selected by an expert jury, are presented in great detail, along with all the 21 cars that have so far won DTM championships.

A comprehensive statistics section containing the results of all 338 DTM races complements this new edition. In addition to looking back on the DTM's past, DTM The Story lets readers peek behind the scenes of the present-day DTM, with current background stories and pictures.

The foreword was written by Bernd Schneider, the most successful DTM driver of all time.
