Every great car manufacturer has preserved its most important models over the years, creating museums, or collections that are not open to the public and which could still tell their origins and story.
The history of the Audi brand dates back to the 19th century. Its automotive treasure includes several brands: besides Audi, there are Horch, NSU, DKW, Wanderer and Auto Union.
It is an impressive collection - usually not open to the public. In addition to series models, there are unique pieces: Audi prototypes, test vehicles, studies that were never realised.
Photographer Stefan Warter spent many days in the so-called holy rooms to document Audi AG's collection, and captured some lost treasures in the brand's history.
