2002 publication, Fast Women is an in-depth account of the colourful lives of female motor-car racers.
With their fearless and skilful driving they brought glamour and excitement to circuits like Brooklands, Donington Park, Crystal Palace and Montlhery.
The famous 24-hour race at Le Mans, as well as road races like The Mille Miglia And the Targa Florio, were exceptionally dangerous races, yet these plucky women were undeterred and their presence enriched these events.
