The book deals with the history, through both narration and many pictures, of the four eight-cylinder turbocharged Ferrari road cars of the 1980s: from the 208 turbo to the F40, with references also to the Formula 1 cars from which these models are descended.
He begins by explaining the genesis of Ferrari's eight-cylinder mid-engined range, then the methods and motivations behind their transition to turbocharging, not forgetting to provide anecdotes and personal memories of the author.
It then moves on to describe the turbocharged Ferrari road cars of the 1980s, particularly those with two-litre engines, with detailed information and images.
The account is enriched by many unpublished interviews with people involved in different roles in the development of these cars, including an albeit brief testimony by Enzo Ferrari.
It concludes with a "buyer's guide" to these models (with particular reference to the two-litre models) and a brief mention of Ferrari's current models equipped with a mid-mounted eight-cylinder turbocharged engine.
224 pages and 292 pictures (288 in colour, 4 in black and white).
