The first edition of this book appeared in 1962 with the title Le mie gioie terribili, and as Le briglie del successo, in its seventh edition in 1970.
In 1974, Enzo Ferrari published this further edition, known to collectors as "Il libro rosso" (the red book), still un libro parlato, una confessione spregiudicata (a talking book, an unprejudiced confession).
The books written by Enzo Ferrari were never for sale, they were usually given as gifts to patrons, potential customers, simple fans and visitors to the Ferrari factory. They were always in limited editions even though the real number of books printed varied for each edition.
'Il libro rosso' is no exception and is marked on the second inside page 'Edizione a tiratura numerata. Le copie non sono in vendita' (Numbered Edition. Copies are not for sale).
