This is the story of Giorgio Molinari, a mechanical designer who contributed largely to the design and development of an impressive list of mythical sports and racing cars, comprising Maserati's 250F, all Birdcages, 3500GT, Quattroporte, Indy and Bora, ATS's 2500GT and Tipo 100F1, Serenissima's 308V, Ferrari's Dino streetcar, Mondial 8 and Testarossa, De Tomaso's Pantera, Deauville, Longchamp, F2 and F1, Lamborghini's Countach, LM and Diablo, BMW's M1 at Lamborghini and still many other known and unknown cars and projects. Born and deceased in Modena, where he was well known and positively remembered, Molinari exemplifies like no other the role of the 'behind the scenes' design hero at 'Terra dei Motori', the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy were the aforementioned brands are rooted. Along with his own story, many tales of and from his old friends and colleagues can be found in the pages of this book.
