Renata Nosetto relives in this biography, her husband Roberto Nosetto's life and experiences in the field of Formula 1 and motorcycling grand prix.
Roberto Nosetto, born in Turin on 11 September 1942, attended the Liceo Massimo d'Azeglio but was struck by his passion for cars attending the Valentino Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1952. He decided to become an engineer and work with Enzo Ferrari.
On 30 May 1968 he graduated from the Polytechnic of Turin, with a thesis on the Testa Rossa Ferrari engine. From June 1969 until November 1976 Enzo Ferrari sent him to the CSAI in Milan and to the Monza racetrack.
He was world champion with Ferrari and Niki Lauda in 1977, then director of the Fiorano track. From 1979 to 1990 he was director of the Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola.
From 1989 to 1991 he became Promoter of the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Belgium in Spa - Francorchamps and of Arizona in Phoenix.
From 1993 to 1999 he became Race Director of the World Motorcycle Championship before moving on to the Superbike World Championship. Become Head of the SBK Office in London at Octagon Motorsport.
In 2004, he retires to private life.
