In April 1930, Henrique Lehrfeld shook up the quiet domestic automobile world by bringing to Lisbon a Bugatti Grand Prix similar to those that dominated most European competitions at the time.
It was a Type 35C, equipped with an 8-cylinder in-line, 2.0-litre, supercharged engine, which had been purchased by Lehrfeld from Guy Bouriat, a legendary figure who experienced the French marque's adventure like few others because, in addition to being a technician in the Bugatti racing team, he was also a natural salesman and a driver with a certain talent.
In Paris, Lehrfeld frequented the world of motor racing and probably through Bouriat, who immediately identified him as a potential customer, cultivated relationships with some of the leading French drivers of the time and even with Ettore Bugatti with whom he became friendly.
A few weeks after the arrival of the 35C, Lehrfeld imported a Bugatti 35B, the only one that arrived in Portugal and which is still preserved in the Caramulo Museum today. These two cars - with a special focus on the second - and the personality of Henrique Lehrfeld are the subjects of this book.
Henrique Lehrfeld e o Bugatti 35B has 160 pages. Text in Portuguese.
