Another title has been added to this valuable series - curated by expert Giorgio Sarti - that helps us discover the motorbike production of the last century.
In the history of the motorbike, the 1930s and 1940s mark an era of extraordinary interest. The end of the 1920s saw a deep transformation that saw the two-wheeler leave its "under-bonnet" configuration, with the fuel tank passing above the frame tubes and the overall appearance of the bike becoming "modern".
Engine performance improved, as did road-holding and reliability, factors that allowed the bike to be used by a wider public.
The British marques of this era are real milestones destined to mark history, especially in the world of competition: among many, those of Ariel, BSA, Triumph, Norton, Matchless, AJS, Sunbeam, Rudge, Royal Enfield and Velocette stand out. At the top is Brough Superior, but it is replaced by another brand of absolute excellence: Vincent.
Il grande libro delle moto inglesi anni 30-40 has 240 pages and hundreds of pictures, in colour and b/w.
