Small cars represent the category that has rightly made Fiat famous throughout its long history. In fact, the Turin-based company has been the indisputable protagonist of Italian motoring, thanks to cheap, efficient and reliable products that have allowed the car to become more and more popular.

The idea of a car for everyone was born after the First World War and came to reality with models such as the 509 and 508 Balilla, followed in 1936 by 500 Topolino, the first true Italian utility car.

In the post-war period, there was finally a boom of the popular car with the 600 and, soon after, the unbeatable 500. The tradition continued with the 850, the modern front-wheel-drive 127 and the 126.

From the inspiration of Giorgetto Giugiaro came the stars of the 1980s: the highly successful Panda and the Uno. Moving on to the Cinquecento, the Seicento and the various Puntos, the book arrives at the contemporary models: the New Panda, the Grande Punto and the newborn 500.

With exceptional period photographic documentation and detailed technical data sheets for each model, this book tells the whole story and evolution of Turin's "small" cars, focusing on the technical aspects but also on the close links with the social situation and customs in the years that saw them play a leading role in Italian life.

Il grande libro delle piccole Fiat has 232 pages, 307 colour and 74 b/w photos.
