Born in 1939, he is, without doubt, one of the best known motorbike racers for his skills as a sprinter. The story of Gino Tondo has something incredible. Known to most for his junior Italian title in 1966 with the MotoBi 125, the Arrow of the South has several victories on his record.
Twice runner-up in the Italian cl. 175 and 125 championships and third in the 500 seniores class, he always showed great strength and determination in competition, but also loyalty and fair play.
Champion of the Hill Climb Races: he won 14 times the Fasano-Selva and was a protagonist in the series derivatives. He also participated in international races, such as at Isola Liri-Arpino, winning and taking the overall and at Le Castellet for the inauguration.
His Motocross period was interesting, where in 1977 he qualified in third place at the Apulian regional championship. A refined mechanic and tuner, he successfully ran the business from 1962 until 2013, when he retired for age limit.
But Il mio nome è Gino is not just about Gino Tondo, it is a compendium of news, events and technical notes that fascinate all those who love the world of two wheels.
