The Czech motorbike manufacturer Jawa grew out of an arms factory. In the late 1920s, its founder Janecek took advantage of the opportunity to produce motorbikes under licence from the German company Wanderer.
The name Jawa originated from the two names Janecek and Wanderer. The motorbikes developed by the Prague-based company were mainly two-stroke and, from the 1960s onwards, more sporty.
In addition to the production motorbikes produced from 1929 to 1990, the author, Frank Rönicke, also documents in this volume the sports, off-road, motocross and trials motorbikes, and track racing motorbikes.
Jawa-Motorräder Seit 1929 has 136 pages and a wealth of photographs.
