17 June 1956, Sunday. In Cesena, between the old and new Via Emilia, the Dario Ambrosini Trophy is held, a motorbike Grand Prix valid for the Italian championship.
It is not the first circuit and will become the last. But no one would have thought then that an entire cycle had come to an end.
It began back in 1926 and continued in the post-war years, illuminated by the victories of two great champions: Dario Ambrosini from Cesena in the 250 class and Omobono Tenni in the 500 class.
The author of this small and precious book, Carlo Dolcini, is no newcomer to rediscovering events and places that seem to have dissolved in the collective memory, treasuring documents and images preserved over the years.
'To show that circuit as the epicentre of a sporting activity that, no longer reached, has taken refuge in memory. To show in the folds of memories, news and illustrations what Romagna in 1956 was like, different and unrecognizable'.
