Urbanina, the avant-garde of other times, becomes a book. The famous electric car invented in Staffoli in the 1960s is the protagonist of this volume entitled 'La nostra Urbanina', published by Andrea Mancini's La Conchiglia di Santiago. The vehicle was designed by the staff of Narciso Cristiani and the Marquis Pier Girolamo Bargagli Bardi Bandini, owner of the villa of Poggio Adorno. At the time about seven hundred specimens were sold, including the actor Bud Spencer who bought himself a 'Milanina'.
In the book, edited by Antonello Biscini, the story of both the discovery and the car is remembered, complete with color and black and white photos and evidence of the time, including that of Indro Montanelli. It is a vehicle that today may appear almost 'normal' but which was pioneering fifty years ago, given that in an unsuspected lemon house of a villa from the 1700s innovative features were conceived even for the modern electric car.
