Niki Lauda certainly does not deny himself in the pages of this book, published in 1985, in Italian, an updated and enriched version, after the German and French ones.

The great Austrian driver writes as he speaks, dry sentences, sharp jokes, but the sententious tone, which has always distinguished him, cannot be considered an absolute constant of this book.

On the contrary, there is room for some honest self-criticism where previously expressed opinions have turned out to be wrong.

The most lively part of the text is contained in the long repartee with Herbert Volker (the Austrian journalist who has always shared Niki's literary efforts) that precedes the technical part of this book, an exemplary essay of popular information on all aspects of top-level racing, from regulations to aerodynamics, from ground effect to engines, chassis, tyres, safety and the driver's physical preparation.

In short, a sort of precious little treaty, certainly destined to find a prominent place in the library of many enthusiasts. Finally, the part dedicated to the champion, in pictures and figures.

In summary:  L'armonia; Aerodinamica; Da ieri a oggi; Dopo le minigonne; I Motori; I Motori Aspirati; I Motori Turbo; Telai e Sicurezza; Il Telaio; I Pneumatici; Materiali Speciali; La Corsa; Atleti al volante; Niki in immagini; Niki in cifre.
