Throughout its long racing career, Alfa Romeo's GTV6 proved to be an extremely versatile car. It won on tracks, in rallies and hillclimbs, revealing a design perfection that few other cars were able to display.
It proved to be competitive on the most different terrains, even on the fearsome and gruelling routes of the East African Safari Rally, driven by the great 'Drago', Sandro Munari, who, in 1983, relied on GTV6 to win the trophy that was lacking in his palmarés.
On this event, Munari was joined by local navigator Ian Street. Unfortunately, the race ended in the second round when the distributor broke, a rather banal failure.
The race was won by Ari Vatanen on an Opel Ascona, and for Sandro Munari it remained a "black beast".
The 1983 edition of Safari Rally and the extraordinary participation of Sandro Munari with Alfetta GTV6 Autodelta, is told in this black and white photographic book, through unpublished and exclusive images.
Enclosed and exclusive with Safari Rally 1983, one photograph of Sandro Munari, taken by Roberto Barbato and personally signed by the Author, and a magnet of Alfetta GTV6.
246 pages and 130 b/w photos.
