The golden age of rallying has arrived in the halls of MAUTO for an exhibition never before seen on the international scene, which will be on display from 27 October 2022 to 2 May 2023 in Turin.
The Golden Age of Rally - Le Grandi Sfide is a journey through the history of this sporting speciality through the iconic examples of Fondazione Gino Macaluso, in whose memory it was set up by his wife and family, with the aim of highlighting the car as a cult object, able to combine technological innovation and humanistic culture, traditional craftsmanship and beauty of avant-garde design.
The collection is one of the most important in the world and unique in its kind due to the palmares of cars, prestige, and originality of the models: historic cars that have made the history of car design and motorsport, becoming a point of reference for experts, collectors, and enthusiasts.
The cars are those that, between the 1960s and 1990s, won the most important championship races, from Monte Carlo to Safari Rally, from Mille Laghi in Finland to Sanremo.
Iconic models, such as the Lancia rally 037 evo2, Audi Quattro and Peugeot 205 T16, protagonists of challenges that have become legends, telling the story of drivers' and racing teams' exploits, technological evolution and the tremendous public success that have accompanied the sport over the decades.
This volume borrows the title of the exhibition as a fitting celebration and splendid paper edition.
