First published in 1975, during the golden years of world trials, and now in its third edition, this book has become a classic of motorsport and genre literature.

Robin Perry describes how a trials bike is different from others, discusses weight, the working of a fork, suspension, tyres. In addition, he provides a number of useful tips on choosing and buying a motorbike, showing which features to consider.

In a chapter on motorbike maintenance, the author points out the precautions one should take for the air filter, gives advice on how to waterproof it, how to prepare the brakes, what one should do to tune the carburettor.

Perry completed the text with notes indicating what needs to be removed or added to a trials bike to make it more competitive and with descriptions of riding techniques specifically studied for this type of motorbike.
